Celia Arrington graduated from Howard University in Washington, DC, with her Bachelors of Science Degree. She has completed several courses in Biblical Studies at the National Bible College in Fort Washington, Maryland, where she also served as an English teacher. She completed a Hermeneutics course from Wesley Theological Seminary and has also obtained several certificates from attending Bob Jones University teacher training classes. Ms. Arrington faithfully served at National Christian Academy for 23 years in both teacher and supervisory positions. She joyfully joined the staff here at GBCS for the 2017-2018 school year.

Ms. Maya BreAn Catoe received an Associate’s Degree in General Studies from Prince George’s Community College in December of 2019, and then went on to receive a BA degree in Theater from Indiana University of Pennsylvania in December of 2022.    She has been teaching at CGCS since 2022.  Ms. Catoe is a CGCS alumna, class of 2015.  She enjoys reading and directing the spring play productions.  She was nominated for the Broadway World Award for Best Actor in a Non-Equity play in December of 2024.

Mr. Childress graduated from Oral Roberts University with a BA degree. While at ORU he was one of the TV Singers on the Oral Roberts Telecast. He is a songwriter whose songs have been recorded by such artists as Micah Stampley, Bishop TD Jakes and the Potter's House, Alvin Slaughter, Carman, RonKenoly, Beverly Crawford and many more.

Mrs. Angela Coburn graduated from Liberty University in Lynchburg VA with a Bachelor's degree in Communication and Education. She is currently earning a Master’s degree (M.A.) in Marriage and Family Counseling. Mrs. Coburn taught for 22 years at Christian, public school systems, private, homeschools, Department of Defense, and charter schools. She has a beautiful family. Her 3 children are college students at Howard University; DC, SUNY Oswego University; NY, and Lee University, TN. She and her husband (RET Airforce) serve as pastors of two local churches in the DMV area.

Eurmin Gadson is a wife, mother, and homeschool teacher who joined the GBCS staff in 2016 as the elementary librarian.  She believes she is living her dream job: working with kids and books. Sue Gilmour received a certificate from the Medix School in 1980 as a medical assistant. She ran a home-based transcription business for 22 years, and has worked over the past 17 years as a classroom aide, library assistant, substitute teacher, and substitute health aide at GBCS. Mrs. Athlea Kinyanjui graduated from Carver Bible College in Atlanta GA. She earned a BBE (Bachelor of Biblical Education).  She attended graduate school at Capital Bible Seminary in Lanham MD, and then gained acceptance into the prestigious Dallas Theological Seminary.

Mrs. Kinyanjui has an ACSI teacher certification and has been an educator in Christian schools for over twenty years.  She currently serves as the Early Childhood Department Chair.  In 2022, Mrs. Kinyanjui was selected as Teacher of the Year.

George Kinyanjui graduated from Free Gospel Bible Institute, Export, PA, with a Pastoral Diploma and Teacher’s Education Diploma (Evangelical Teacher’s Association).  He earned a BBE (Bachelors of Biblical Education) and ThB (Bachelors of Theology) respectively from Carver College, Atlanta, GA.  He attended graduate school at Capital Bible Seminary in Lanham, MD, earning a Master’s degree (M.A.) in Theology.

Mr. Kinyanjui taught for several years at local Christian schools, public school systems, and at the College of Southern Maryland as an adjunct professor before he joined the staff here at GBCS for 2015-2016.

Mrs. Loufik graduated magna cum laude and received her BA degree in Foreign Language from Millersville State University and Philipps Universität, in Marburg, West Germany. She received her MA degree from the Capital Bible Seminary. She received her Teaching English as a Foreign Language Certification (TEFL) through the Peace Corps in Africa. She has been teaching since 1990. In addition to coordinating the Home School Program, Mrs. Loufik teaches French. She joined the GBCS staff in 1999.

Joyce Rivers is a 1988 graduate of Norwich University, the Military College of Vermont. Miss Rivers attended the nation's oldest private military college on an Army ROTC scholarship and completed her four-year degree program in three years. Upon graduation, Rivers was commissioned in the United States Army Intelligence Corps and served four years on active duty in the Army Intelligence and Security Command (INSCOM) during Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm. After her initial active duty service obligation was complete, and sensing God's call to Christian education, Rivers transitioned to the Army Reserve where she served as an Intelligence and Civil Affairs Officer in the Special Operations Command. Simultaneously, she began preparing for a ministry in Christian teaching. Rivers taught at Northstar Christian Academy in Rochester, N.Y. from 1995-2000, when she was recruited by her alma mater to return as Assistant Commandant of Cadets and Director of Military and Veteran Student Affairs. She was reactivated during the Global War on Terrorism, serving at Fort Bragg, N.C., and then returning to the Military College at Norwich University where she continued to serve for almost a decade and a half. Upon separating from Norwich University and the Vermont State Militia, Rivers substitute taught in Vermont at Websterville Christian Academy and Randolph Union High School until she was called to Maryland to continue in the Christian teaching ministry. Rivers has taught secondary General Science, Earth Science, Spanish I & II, Old and New Testament Surveys, and English Language and Literature.

Errol Russell graduated from the Midland Bible Institute, Jamaica, West Indies, with an Advanced Certificate in Biblical Studies. He later earned a BA in Biblical Studies (from Central Christian University located in Lexington, North Carolina. He then attended graduate school at Capital Bible Seminary (now Capital Seminary) in Lanham  MD, where he earned a Master’s degree (M.A.) in Biblical Studies. He is currently pursuing post-graduate studies with the doctoral department at Lancaster Bible College/Capital Seminary.

Mrs. Tanya Geanine Settles has a BS degree in Elementary and Special Education from Delaware State University and a Master’s degree in Behavioral Disorders from West Virginia University in 1998.  She received a Certification in Administration/Supervision from Johns Hopkins University in 2001.  After working from 1998 to 2011 in the Montgomery County Public School system, she retired from service.  From 2011 to 2017, she was a stay-at-home mom.  From 2018 to the present, she has been working in the cafeteria at CGCS.  She holds a Class B Food Service Kitchen Certification that is valid from 2024 to 2029.

I have worked as a Christian Educator since 2000.  I received my Doctorate in Ministry in 2020.  I have been married to my husband Steve for 34 years.  Steve is a Branch Chief in the technology field.  We have 7 children - all over 18 years of age; I also have 6 grandchildren.  Five of my children graduated from Christian school.   I am a lover of knowledge, and I love God’s word.

Mrs. Darlene Williams retired from the federal government as a Senior Program Analyst in 2017 after thirty-four and a half years of service. She now serves as the Education Office Manager at Clinton Grace Christian School, where she provides administrative leadership and support for the school's academic programs.

During her tenure at the Environmental Protection Agency, Mrs. Williams oversaw acquisition, financial management, and program planning. Her expertise in policy development, budgeting, and contract management has equipped her with strong organizational and leadership skills that she now brings to the field of education.

Beyond her professional career, Mrs. Williams is deeply committed to serving her church community. She is an ordained minister and actively supports ministries such as Children's Church, Church Administration, Member Care, Bereavement Care, Women's Ministry, Intercessory Prayer, Next Steps Academic Center, and Marriage Counseling.

LaShawn L. Bost attained her Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from Morgan State University in 1996. Married for 29 years, she has 3 children ranging from 12 to 26 years old.  She has been involved in Children's Ministry for over 20 years, and she and her husband are both licensed ministers. Ms. Bost thoroughly enjoys opportunities to impact youth in a positive way.  On many occasions she has delivered the Word of God to His people and takes seriously the opportunity to intercede on behalf of others.

With over 25 years of experience in the fields of occupational safety and health, Mrs. Bowles brings a unique blend of scientific expertise and public service to the classroom. Holding a Bachelor’s degree in Biology and a Master of Science in Occupational Safety and Health Engineering, she has built a distinguished career at the intersection of science, health and workplace safety.

Mrs. Bowles has served on several national platforms, is a member of the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH), National Occupational Research Agenda (NORA), Indoor Evironment Team, Coalition for Health Schools, Indoor Environmental Qualify (IEQ) and the Federal Advisory Council on Occupational Safety and Health. In these roles, she contributed to national policy and research intiatives aimed at improving occupational environments and protecting worker health for Federal, State and County public employees.

In recent years, she has transitioned into secondary education, bringing real-world scientific insight into the high school biology classroom. She graduated from CGCS in 2020. She is currently working as a teacher’s aide for preschool and also assists with the before/aftercare program.

Mrs. D’Abreu has dedicated nearly two decades to early childhood education and youth development. She earned her Associate’s degree in Child Development from Southeastern University and began her career in childcare with Bright Horizons in 2006. From there, she served as a Teacher Assistant at a public charter school in Washington, DC from 2008-2013. Since 2021, Ms. D’Abreu has worked at Clinton Grace Christian School as a Pre-K4 teacher, where she brings her passion for nurturing children’s growth academically, socially, and spiritually.

Beyond the classroom, Mrs. D’Abreu is a devoted wife to a pastor, mother of five, and youth minister at her church. Her heart for children and families shines through in her teaching, leadership and ministry, as she continues to inspire young learners to thrive in God’s purpose for their lives.

Mrs. Days received her Bachelor’s degree in Political Science with a minor in Public Administration from Winston-Salem State University in May of 1989. She attained a Master’s degree in Cybersecurity Management and Policy from the University of Maryland Global Campus in December of 2021.

Mrs. Days taught elementary students from 1997-2000, and again in 2002-2003 and 2016-2019. She taught pre-middle school and high school in 2021-2023.

Miss Lantz received her BA in Bible and Christian Education from Washington Bible College and her TH.M from American Bible College. She has been featured in Who’s Who of America’s Teachers. Her teaching career began 1979 and she has been on the staff of CGCS since 1988. She was trained by NILD, gained Level III certification, and joined the Discovery Staff for the 2007-2008 school year.

Ms. Wilson (Ms. Steph) began working for the private Christian school system in 2021. She was a Bible teacher at Rock Creek Christian Academy for two years and also became the Dean of Students.

She is certified in Infant/Toddler CPR, Adult CPR and Medication Administration and Emergency First Aid. She has also worked in hospice care. 

Ms. Steph is a wife of 28 years and a mother to 6 sons and 1 daughter. She and her husband are the youth and young adult pastors at their local church. Mrs. Steph is an evangelist and also mentors at-risk youth. She joined the CGCS team in 2024 as the MS and HS girls PE and Health teacher, worked as a substitute health aide, and worked for before/aftercare.

Mrs. Garnett received her Bachelor’s degree in English from the Metropolitan State College of Denver in May of 2002, and attained her Master’s degree in Professional Writing from Towson University in May of 2007.  Mrs. Garnett taught English Composition to incoming freshman at Towson University from 2007 to 2011.  She also worked for the Federal Government as an editor for more than 20 years and provided grammar instruction to her coworkers in a variety of ways, including teaching English grammar to auditors from around the world.
